2022 - Fall
Central VA - Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah National Park. Took advantage of the best fall foliage I've ever seen.
2022 - Summer
Nordic Countries - Iceland, Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia. Briefly got a feel for a few countries in Northern Europe.
2021 - Fall
American Southwest - Nevada, Utah, Arizona. Did a SW loop through grand canyons, slot canyons, arches, mesas, and red rock in every form.
2021 - Spring
North Carolina - Great Smoky Mountains. Visited just in time to see the wildflower bloom.
2020 - Covid
Explored trails close to home.
2019 - Summer
New England - Vermont, Maine. Explored Vermont for the first time while also trying to capture some of my favorite places on Mount Desert Island with my family: Seal Harbor, Acadia, & Bar Harbor
2018 - Fall
Hawaii - Big Island, Kauai, Maui. I had two focuses on this trip. Capturing timelapses and experimenting with my new GoPro (which I should have purchased in 2013).
2018 - Fall
Virginia - Shenandoah National Park. Focused on capturing my own backyard, especially the rivers, using a neutral density filter.
2018 - Summer
Western Europe - Belgium, Netherlands, France. Let's be honest, any description of this must begin with a simple fact. Here Andy ate waffles. Many, many waffles.

Southern Europe - France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia. Did a lot of Golden Hour photography to capture places in their best light.
2018 - Spring
US Roadtrip - Virginia to California and back, visiting 18 states and 14 national parks/forests. Focused on capturing the landscapes of the various national parks.
2018 - Winter
Persian Gulf - Dubai and Bahrain. Returned to the Gulf for the first time since 2013. Oh, how I missed the food. Can someone please bring a good shwarma joint to C'ville?
2017 - Fall
Virginia - Shenandoah National Park. I was hired to do engagement shots by a friend. I enjoyed getting out of my comfort zone and taking this step.

Tennessee - Middle of Nowhere. Drove to Tennessee to view the Solar Eclipse on August 21, 2017. I can safely say it was one of the most amazing moments of my life.
2016 - Summer
Colorado - Maroon Bells, Gray's Peak, Rocky Mtn NP. Worked primarily on landscape framing as well as as wildlife photography when the opportunity arose.

US - Virginia, West Virginia, and Colorado. My niece provided me a unique (and adorable) challenge to capture during her first few years.
2015 - Summer
Virginia. Two beautiful golden retrievers were added to the family that made great adventure buddies and photo models.
2015 - Spring
US Southwest - Las Vegas to Denver hitting all the national parks in between. Focused on capturing (and playing on) the red rock I fell in love with back in 2011.
2014 - Summer
Europe - Netherlands with trips throughout Western/Central Europe. Traveled in sync with World Cup to visit countries while their team was playing.
2014 - Spring
Fiji - Taveuni and the Rainbow Reef. Got my PADI certification and went on several dives on the rainbow reef, one of the top dive sites in the world. 👌

New Zealand - One month highlight trip with my two sisters. Brought a wide angle lenses this time which allowed more successful astrophotography shots.

Australia - Perth, Great Ocean Road, Sydney. Returned to Perth to live/work but also got to view Vivid Sydney and experiment with Timelapses for the first time.

Malaysian Borneo - Kuching, Gunung Mulu NP, Niah Caves, Bako NP. Celebrated Chinese New Year with an amazing friend and explored many jungles and caves.

Hong Kong - The beginning of my second backpacking journey. I camped on a beach in Lan Tao island where I could walk to the mountains.
2013 - Summer
Philippines - Island of Bohol. The finale of my first backpacking trip. Tried SCUBA diving and felt I had been to another planet. If only my Nikon was waterproof.

New Zealand - Road tripped for 2 months. By far the most photogenic place I've ever been filled with the nicest people I've met. And I've been to Canada (sorry).

Australia - Lived/worked in Perth, traveled by rail all across the country from Sydney to Darwin. Landscape, City, and Wildlife shots were taken throughout.

SE Asia - Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Near Batu Caves I captured a moment with a wild monkey that inspired me to work harder on wildlife photography.

Persian Gulf - Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, and Oman. Embarked on a worldwide backpacking journey with no return ticket. Lugged my new Nikon D7000 along too.
2012 - Summer
Spain - City hopping. Primary focus was capturing the fantastic architecture ranging from Gaudi in Barcelona to the Moorish in the South.
2011 - Summer/Fall
US - Virginia & Southwest. Continued to experiment with night photography. I was able to capture my first galactic core in Utah where there was no light pollution.

Maine - Mount Desert Island & Chamberlain Lake. After the grand landscapes of the west, my focus this trip was on individual elements in landscapes.

US Southwest - Southern Utah, Northern Arizona, & Las Vegas. I fell in love with the red rock as I attempted to capture epic landscapes of Zion. Vowed to return!
2010 - Spring
Puerto Rico - San Juan, El Yunque National Forest, & Isabella. In addition to landscapes, I started my attempt at street photography throughout Old San Juan.
2009 - Summer
Northeast - Primarily Mount Desert Island. First trip I took with my digital camera. Focused on capturing water and landscapes in different lighting conditions.
2008 - Fall
Virginia - Albemarle County. Experimented with long exposures to capture nighttime landscapes. Instantly knew I found one of my favorite genres to capture.

Bought my first digital camera and attempted to suppress all feelings of "cheating" after doing 3 years of darkroom photography where I developed and printed from film.
